Sharing and export
Downloading your video
Download your finished video as an MP4, choose a resolution, and what free accounts can do.
Last updated
You download a video as an MP4 from the Export button in the editor, or from the Projects page. On Plus and Pro you can download as often as you like at the resolution you pick. On the Free plan you can build and watch your video, but downloading the MP4 needs a plan or a one-time purchase of that video's export.
Where to download
- In the editor: press Export in the top toolbar and pick a resolution.
- On the Projects page: open a card's … menu and choose Download video (or Export video…), or click the card to open the preview player and press Download.
These actions are disabled while a video is still building. They show "Available when the video finishes generating" until it is done.
Resolutions on Plus and Pro
| Option | Notes |
| Source (480p) | Smallest file |
| 720p | |
| 1080p | Marked recommended |
| 1440p | Largest file |
Exporting never costs credits, only building does. You can download the same video as many times as you like.
If captions are turned on, they are part of the picture in the downloaded MP4. See Captions.
On the Free plan
The Export menu shows "Free plan: MP4 export is locked", and each size row reads unlock. Choosing any row opens a window titled "Download your MP4 with Plus or Pro", with these choices:
- See plans to compare Plus and Pro on the pricing page.
- A one-time purchase of just this video's export, with its price shown on the button.
- Maybe later to close the window.
You can keep building and previewing in the editor either way. See Preview and present.
Buying one video's export
If you only need one video, you can pay once for it instead of subscribing. In the Export menu this row starts with Own this video, and the paywall offers the same purchase.
- It covers one project only.
- It unlocks full-resolution MP4 export of that video.
- It does not expire, so you can download that video again later.
- It does not add scene rebuilds. Free accounts keep the 3 scene rebuilds per video. See Regenerating scenes and pictures.
The price is shown in the editor and can vary by country.
Saving a backup of the project
An MP4 is the finished video. To keep an editable copy of the project itself, open the editor's More menu and choose Download data (backup), which saves a .json file. You can bring it back with Restore from backup in the same menu, or with Import on the create screen. See Undo and backups.
MP4 is the only download format
Videos download as MP4. To show a video without sending a file, share a link or embed it instead. See Public links and embeds.
