Sharing and export

Sharing with people

Invite specific people to view or edit a project by email, and find projects others have shared with you.

Last updated

To give specific people access to a project, open its Share dialog, enter their email address, choose Can view or Can edit, and press Share. They see the project once they sign in to openCanviz with that same email address.

This is for named people. To let anyone with a link watch the video, turn on link sharing instead. See Public links and embeds.

Invite someone

  1. 1

    Open the Share dialog

In the editor, open the More menu and choose Share. Or, on the Projects page, open a card's menu and choose Share.

  2. 2

    Enter their email

Type the address in Enter email address. Use the email they sign in to openCanviz with.

  3. 3

    Pick a role

Choose Can view to let them watch, or Can edit to let them change the project.

  4. 4

    Press Share

You see Diagram shared successfully, and they appear in the People with access list.

The dialog title shows the project name, so you can check you are sharing the right one.

What they need to do

The person you invite must sign in with the email address you entered. The project then appears on their Shared with me page, marked "Shared by" with your email and a Can edit or Can view chip.

Let them know you have shared it, so they know to look there. If they have never signed in before, they can create an account with that email first. See Your account and support.

Remove someone's access

Open the Share dialog again. Each person in the People with access list can be removed.

Projects shared with you

Open Shared with me from the sidebar to see every project others have shared with you. If nothing is there yet, you see "No projects have been shared with you yet".

Sharing and privacy

Projects are private by default. Inviting people by email does not make a project public: only you and the people in the list can open it. If you also turn on Link sharing in the same dialog, anyone with the link can watch it without an account.
