Editing
Preview and present
Play your video in the editor, set captions, sound effects and looping, and present it fullscreen or step by step.
Last updated
You can watch your video at any time from the editor's toolbar: press Play, or press Space. To show it to a room or a class, open Present ▾ and choose Play fullscreen or Present step by step.
Previewing and presenting are available on every plan, including Free. Downloading the video as an MP4 is separate, see Download your video.
Play controls
| Control | What it does |
| Play / Pause | Start or pause playback. Space does the same. |
| Stop | Stop playback. |
| Seek bar | Drag to jump to any point. The left and right arrow keys skip 5 seconds, and Space pauses. |
To play only the scene you are editing, use Play this scene in the timeline instead. See The timeline.
Playback settings
The playback settings menu in the toolbar (its tooltip starts with "Playback settings") has three settings:
- Captions: on/off shows or hides the on-screen captions. See Captions.
- Sound effects turns the short motion sounds off or picks a sound pack.
- Loop sets what happens at the end: Play once, Loop (start again from the beginning) or Ping-pong (play back and forth).
Present fullscreen
- Click Present ▾ in the toolbar.
- Choose Play fullscreen to play the whole video full screen, the way your audience will see it.
Present step by step
Choose Present ▾ > Present step by step when you want to talk over the video yourself. The video is presented one step at a time rather than as one continuous play, so you can stay on each idea while you explain it. This works well for a live lesson or a meeting.
Before you present
Check that captions and sound effects are set the way you want in Playback settings, and that your narration is generated for every scene.
Showing the video outside the editor
If you want people to watch without opening the editor, turn on link sharing and send them the watch link, or embed the player in a page. See Public links and embeds. Watching from a link needs no account.
If something looks wrong in the preview
- A picture is missing: the editor may show "Still drawing… X of Y drawings" while pictures finish arriving. Wait for it to finish.
- A scene shows NO PICTURE: the picture was refused. See Regenerate scenes and pictures.
- Narration and pictures are out of step: open the Narration panel and use Fit Steps to Narration. See Narration and voice.
