Plans and credits
What the Free, Plus and Pro plans include, what credits pay for, and where to see your balance.
Last updated
openCanviz has three plans: Free, Plus and Pro. Credits pay for one thing only, building a video, at 7 credits per minute of video. Drafting plans, editing, regenerating scenes and exporting do not cost credits.
For current prices and the number of credits each plan includes, see the pricing page.
What each plan includes
| Free | Plus | Pro | |
| Credits | A one-time grant when you sign up, no monthly refill | A monthly allowance | A larger monthly allowance |
| Projects | Up to 3 | Up to 5 | Up to 20 |
| MP4 download | Not included; buy one video's export, or upgrade | Yes, as many times as you like | Yes, as many times as you like |
| Scene rebuilds | 3 per video | No limit | No limit |
| Saved characters | 1 | 10 | No limit |
Free accounts can build videos and watch them in the editor. See Downloading your video for the download options.
When yearly billing is offered, the pricing page shows a Monthly / Annual switch. Prices are shown in your local currency in some countries.
How credits work
- Building costs 7 credits per minute of video. Length is rounded to the half minute, with a half-minute minimum.
- Credits are taken when the build starts. The Make my video button shows the estimated minutes and credits before you press it.
- A failed build is refunded automatically.
- Deleting a video does not refund its credits.
- These are free: drafting a plan (up to 20 drafts a day), editing scenes, regenerating scenes, and exporting.
If a video needs more credits than you have, you see how many it needs and how many you have, with options to shorten it, Buy credits or Try Pro. Dropping a scene or two from the plan makes the video shorter and cheaper.
When credits refill
- Free: the sign-up grant is one-time. It does not refill.
- Plus and Pro: your plan credits refill each month on your billing date. Unused plan credits do not roll over.
- Upgrading refills your credits. Downgrading does not take back credits you already have.
If your Billing tab shows a button to buy credits, you can buy extra credits on top of your plan. Purchased top-up credits never expire.
Where to see your balance
- The plan chip shows your plan name and credit count.
- Account, then the Billing tab, shows your plan credits, purchased top-ups and when your credits reset.
- The create screen shows how many minutes your credits cover for the length you picked.
- The editor's More menu shows the minutes of video you have left.
Project limits
Each plan has a cap on how many projects you can keep. When you reach it, you see a message asking you to delete a project or upgrade. Duplicating a project and re-voicing it in another language both count toward the cap. Imported projects do not. Deleted projects go to Trash first. See The Projects page.
